Volunteer at the Corner Cupboard Grocery and Nutrition Center

Whether for an hour, a day or a regular, recurring slot, HCFS needs volunteers Monday thru Friday at the Corner Cupboard. All Volunteers are trained in diabetes prevention, relationship building, and grocery store operations in order to best interact with our clients.

In addition to volunteers needed for daily operations. HCFS creatively works with youth and church groups for larger-scale projects. We also have collaborated with different Boy Scouts on their Eagle Scout Project.

Volunteer at the Random Hangers

Volunteers who enjoy fashion and working with donations of all kinds will appreciate volunteering in our retail and resale store, Random Hangers. From donated shoes, clothes, household goods, electronics, furniture and appliances, HCFS’ Random Hangers provides for families in need and generates retail sales for local and out-of-town shoppers where 100% of the proceeds support HCFS’ programs!

HCFS’ focus on healthy, nutritious food and nutrition education requires continual studying of best practices and interacting with the wellness industry. HCFS seeks professional dieticians and nutritionists for classes and staff training to further our ability to assist the community and to promote proactive nutrition.

Hill Country Family Services seeks mental healthcare professionals for program consultation, staff education and client services.

Your support enables us to improve the lives of children, men, women, seniors and veterans who are fighting to survive crisis and trauma… right here in our backyard.  Your donation supports client programs that provide mental healthcare, food and financial assistance to residents of the community who need help.

Clothing

HCFS is urgently seeking new and gently used clothes, shoes, underwear and accessories to support families in need and for retail sales that support mental health and nutrition programs.  Donations can be brought to HCFS Tuesday – Friday (9AM – 3PM) and Saturdays (9AM – 2PM).  Arrangements can be made for Monday or after-hour donation drop offs.

Furniture

Your donations of used, quality furniture and household goods help those in the community who often are setting up new residences and need the basics. The donations also provide a low-price alternative for many of our low-income residents who cannot afford new furniture, cookware and household goods. All proceeds from the sale of donations support HCFS’ client programs.
