Hill Country Family Services: Flood Response Update
The worst thing during a disaster is uncertainty. Hill Country Family Services is working to get answers so our community can move forward with clarity and confidence.
For 40 years, HCFS has served Kendall County as a 501(c)(3) organization, providing case-by-case assistance to families and individuals based on need and economic situation. In response to the recent flooding, our normal service area remains Kendall County, but as we work through this process, we may be able to extend assistance to some areas of Center Point and Fair Oaks Ranch, as well as portions of Kerr and Bexar counties.
We want our community to understand both what we can offer right now and where we're still working on solutions.
Short-term lodging: We are hearing from many families who need short-term lodging assistance. We do not have an immediate solution in place, but we are actively working to develop resources for this need.
Financial assistance: We do not provide direct cash assistance. When we're able to help, our policy is to pay directly to an entity (landlord, utility company, etc.) rather than to the individual.
As always, assistance is evaluated case by case depending on each family's specific need and situation. If you've been impacted by the flooding, please reach out to us to fill out an application and discuss your circumstances with a case manager.
Applying connects you with us and that will always get some kind of resource or connection with appropriate resources.
