Hill Country Family Services Honored as the 2020 Nonprofit of the Year!

The Boerne Star: The treasures of the deep were many on Saturday night as the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce celebrated its best by honoring organizations, businesses and individuals making a difference in and around the city and Kendall County.

Hill Country Family Services was named the Nonprofit of the Year and was one of 20 organizations nominated. Executive Director Staci Almager accepted the award. “The winning organization operates at the intersection of urgent need and lasting change,” Emcee Rob Weller said in announcing the winner. “They are dedicated to fostering mental and physical wellness, stability and independence for those in crisis in Kendall County.”
Chamber President and CEO Kim Blohm said a selection committee chose the winners based on 2020 achievements, accomplishments and background information. She said committee members said the final decision for each award was made more difficult because of the recognized 2020 accomplishments of each nominee in such a unique year. “Our selection committee and the chamber agree that all of our nominees are heroes in their own right,” Blohm said.
